Growing Up in Traditional Native America

Understanding the attitudes and practices of traditional Native people can be helpful to modern families. Natural childbirth, respect for elders and spiritual practice, and training children in stillness and attentiveness were important and beneficial aspects of childhood life among early Native people. Included is archival material of customs among the Chippewa, Flathead-Salish, Navajo, and Winnebago tribes along with more than 40 vintage photographs and illustrations.
